Today the Municipality of Monroeville boasts 21 Municipal parks that include more than 650 acres of parkland and a complete offering of recreational programs. From sunrise to sunset, you can enjoy any of these parks, many of which feature such amenities as pavilions, rest rooms, playing fields and courts, playgrounds, and nature trails. Right in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers meet to form the Ohio, sits majestic Point State Park. The park boasts breathtaking views, beautifully landscaped grounds and the archaeological remains of Fort Pitt, Fort Duquesne and thousands of years of Native American occupation.
