In 1916 Fred Goodwins, an actor in Charlie Chaplin’s film company, wrote 37 articles about working with Chaplin for the British magazine Red Letter. Recently rediscovered, the articles have been compiled and released in book form as Charlie Chaplin’s Red Letter Days, with exhaustive, in-depth annotations by Mt. Lebanon author, mime artist and Chaplin expert Dan Kamin — the man who trained Robert Downey, Jr. for his performance in the movie Chaplin. Dan’s presentation in the Gallery Space will reveal the backstory of this fascinating excursion into the private world of Hollywood’s first superstar.
