Jason R. Rihn, an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and Certified Tree Risk Assessor with Bartlett Tree Experts, will discuss the management of key insect and mite pests plus foliar, vascular and root diseases threatening landscape plants and trees in Monroeville and its surrounding areas. Such management begins with promoting ideal plant growing conditions — often with soil testing and some form of soil care, periodic inspections, and if needed, direct treatments for insect, mite and disease suppression utilizing an Integrated Pest Management approach (IPM).

With over 15 years of arboricultural consulting experience, Jason services neighborhoods east of Pittsburgh including Monroeville out of the Irwin, PA branch of Bartlett Tree Experts, a 117-year-old international scientific tree care company originally headquartered in Stamford, CT. His areas of focus include integrated pest management, organic soil care, historic tree preservation, ornamental pruning, and large tree risk assessment. Jason is a graduate of Penn State with an Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree in Forest Technology and Forest Science.
